Our Research
To gain a deeper understanding of the gaps in our community, Duality set out a five-month research project during lockdown which consisted of 30+ workshops and 1000+ post-it notes.
The core philosophy of the workshops involved purely listening to community experiences based on what they liked, lacked, learnt and longed for. Processing this unique ‘data’ proved to be an interesting challenge as there were no numbers or trends to follow. While also ensuring our own biases were not influencing how we catagorised ideas.
Seven common themes were identified:
Supportive Community
Lack of Engagement
Cultural Intelligence
Work/life Balance
Vulnerability
Expectation of Success
Female Empowerment
We then produced insight statements summarising what we noticed in the data for each respective theme. No solutions, just fleshing out the community feedback.
Have a read through our findings below and let us know what resonates with you! We hope this information provides an awareness of the gap in our community as told from the members themselves.
